Website and Portal Development
The Client:
AIGC (American Indian Graduate Center)
The Project:
A public website integrated with a community portal.
The Opportunity:
The American Indian Graduate Center is a national organization, headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, providing educational assistance to American Indian and Alaska native graduate students throughout the country. Since its founding in 1969, AIGC has awarded more than 15,000 scholarships, totaling over $44 million to graduate students in all fields of study. AIGC required the expansion of their web presence and the broadening of their participant’s capacity to access information from AIGC using the internet. SysInterface customized a web solution which helped AIGC to build a virtual community of schools, teachers, counselors, principals, coaches, educators, administrators and stakeholders. The SysInterface solution helped AIGC to provide better communication and information exchanges, dynamically within their service community.
The SysInterface Approach:
SysInterface deployed their project management and web design teams, who have a proven track record with projects like the Gates Millennium Scholars website and community portal. SysInterface enhanced the website and community portal, engaging 5000 plus members, interacting daily as a community of scholars and educators. Through presentation of successful work models, SysInterface was able to expand AIGC’s vision for their website. A comprehensive plan was developed by gathering data through an evaluation of AIGC’s requirements and community partnerships. It was that plan that enabled SysInterface to achieve AIGC’s goal to serve their community better by having a public website with the ability for AIGC to manage the content and also have a portal for scholarship processing and community and student use. The proven expertise of SysInterface helped to enhance and deliver a state-of-the-art scholarship management system that allowed them to process online scholarship applications expediently and effectively, exceeding the expectations of the community.
The Result:
AIGC’s website gives a single point of access to AIGC users internally, as well as to the public community and student users. It affords user’s search functionality, as well as the ability to post documents, pictures and videos and share information among community members. The tab, My AIGC Circle, allows for the creation of virtual community, where online community users search and message to build common practices and community consensus through exchanging ideas across a virtual discussion platform.
The community portal capability of this system has also opened their world to the social media of Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and many others, with the capacity for online donations integrated with a donor management system and direct mail capabilities. The online scholarship application system serves more than 15,000 scholarships applicants in an expedient and effective manner, yielding service excellence and satisfaction for the AIGC community.
