The Project:

To develop a student data management system to track student progress.

The Opportunity:

YouthBuild is a youth and community development program that addresses core issues facing low-income communities such as: housing, education, employment, crime prevention, and leadership development. Participants are low-income students, ages 16-24, working toward their GEDs or high school diplomas, while learning job skills and serving their communities by building affordable housing. SysInterface customized SchoolsEdNet, to address Youth Build’s need for a student data management system that would effectively track the progress of their students.

The SysInterface Approach:

Through a system of needs assessment and adaptive-solutions analysis of internal conversations and documentation review, a co-developed requirements action plan was developed with YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School. The SysInterface professional team of database and web development specialists proceeded to customize SchoolsEdNet and helped YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School to implement their new student data management system in a timely, professional, cost effective and user friendly manner.  The project management and reporting, including bug tracking and change requests, were handled through our secured SharePoint site, which was available 24/7 over the internet. This contributed to a seamless communication process that provided for all weekly status milestones and requirements to be met for the YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School project.

The Result:

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School now has the ability to track, monitor and report the status of every students activity throughout the lifecycle of the program, using their comprehensive database system from anywhere in the nation.
